Do you ever wake up and just feel pain and aches that can disrupt the entirety of your day? It could be from a form of exercise, the daily activities in your life, or even due to natural aging. There are many different causes that can make the body feel uncomfortable in a number of ways. You tell yourself that it’s nothing too serious, that you can take some medicine and just wait for the symptoms to clear up, just for it to come back another day and time.

You don’t have to feel that way anymore!
I’ve comprised a list of some extremely easy changes that can be made at any point in time to lessen and even prevent these nuisances.

2. Exercise!

The best way to stay out of pain and overall lead a healthier lifestyle is to exercise. Studies from all over the world show that even just stretching can increase mobility, overall heart and body health, decrease chances of illness, and prolong lifespan expectancy. It is recommended that you start with at least 20 minutes of exercise per day, but even if that is too much for you, start anywhere! Progress is progress, no matter how little and/or slow it takes. It’s a marathon, not a race!
3. Hydration/Diet

There are many benefits that come with a more complete diet overall, but did you know that just increasing your water intake per day can provide that much more needed boost that your body needs to start recuperating? It is recommended for the average person to drink at least 8 cups of water a day or 64 ounces. Also if you want to stay lean and healthy, you should be eating .6-.8 lbs of protein per pound of your body weight. Reducing junk foods and refined carbs is also a surefire way to improve your health. Even doing it for one meal out of a day can make a change into your lifestyle!
4. Apply Heat/Cold

If you have ever been to a sports recovery center before, you would know that trainers typically ask if you want to have a hot towel or ice pack after the workouts in order to preserve your muscles and decrease chances of injury right afterwards. Relaxing your muscles instead of having them tight allows more room for the nerves to be able to freely roam in your body, which in itself decreases the inflammation in that area of your body. You don’t really have to do this every single time, but trying it even once will make you a firm believer afterwards. Why do you think people love to take hot steamy showers every day?
5. Getting Adequate Sleep

Even though this should be common knowledge, it is often overlooked either due to our personal wants or our schedules that don’t allow us to get that recommended 8 hours of sleep a night. Trying to find out what your personal biological clock is and finding the best time for you to sleep is key to making yourself feel better each and every day. Feeling better overall and having more energy releases dopamine into your brain, which is a drug that makes you feel good. It calms the mind and decreases pain receptors so that you won’t be as bothered as you were before. That’s just one of the many benefits of sleep, but this is focused mainly around getting rid of pain.
